CEU, PDH, LU, LU/HSW, and more
UW-Madison’s Interdisciplinary Professional Programs courses qualify for state PE continuing education licensure in all states.
Whether you’re fulfilling licensing requirements or taking a course for professional development, you will earn credit hours for your time. Earn Professional Development Hours (PDH) or CEUs upon completing courses from UW-Madison. Some courses are approved for American Institute of Architects (AIA) Learning Units (LU) or AIA Learning Units/Health, Safety, and Welfare (LU/HSW). Credit hours are listed at the individual course level.
UW’s use of the CEU follows internationally accepted guidelines:
Credit type | Credit Name | Hours of Instruction |
---|---|---|
1 CEU | Continuing Education Unit | 10 contact hours |
1 PDH | Professional Development Hours | 1 contact hour |
1 LU | AIA Learning Unit | 1 contact hour |
1 LU/HSW | AIA Learning Unit/Health, Safety, and Welfare | 1 contact hour |
1 CEU = 10 PDH = 10 LU = 10 LU/HSW |
NOTE: Course content must be related to your professional practice to qualify for credit in most states. Please contact your state licensing board or professional association to review your specific requirements.
