Upon completion of this course, you will be able to identify and describe the major components of quality human resource management, special skills needed to select and retain high-performance employees, and critical management skills needed by supervisors in difficult economic times. This course is offered as a part of the PWSA certificate, which is composed of nine one-day courses (54 class hours total). The certificate provides an opportunity to learn about and practice basic supervision and leadership skills in local public works organizations.

Using PASER and WISLR to Manage Your Roads

Wisconsin Information System for Local Roads (WISLR) is a web based system that Wisconsin local governments use to submit local road data and pavement condition ratings. WISLR can also map road conditions and provide suggested 5-year plans for maintenance and rehabilitation to assist local decision-making. WISLR uses PASER pavement condition ratings, road data, deterioration projections and locally supplied budget information to produce recommendations.
