Course Overview

Learn about the National Electrical Code® (NEC) from a nationally known NEC expert, author, and speaker.

The National Electrical Code® is the "benchmark for safe electrical design, installation, and inspection to protect consumers and property from electrical hazards," according to the National Fire Protection Association. This course is organized to help you design, install, or inspect more efficiently by applying the National Electrical Code to your daily work. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to design electrical systems that are code compliant and be aware of the liabilities associated with noncompliance.

This course also discusses how the NEC is organized, changes from previous editions, requirements for new and existing installations, "how-to-design" information for electrical systems, and valuable information on how the NEC relates to other standards.

Additional Information

The In-Person offering of this course in April has been approved by the State of WI Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) for 20 hours for: Registered Electrician, Commercial Electrical Inspector, Industrial Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Electrician, Master Electrician, Residential Journeyman Electrician, and UDC - Electrical Inspector license holders. However, the ONLINE/ZOOM offering of this course in November will be based on the latest revision of the NEC. The ONLINE course will likely NOT be approved for Electrical Trade credit in Wisconsin as we will use code references from the latest revision fo the code.

Noel Williams

Noel runs Noel Williams Consulting (more than 20 years) and serves as an instructor and developer of electrical training programs covering electrical safety, including the National Electrical Code and related standards. He has provided training services for Salt Lake Community College, NFPA, NTT, IAEI, and private clients that included Los Alamos National Labs, Alcan Cable, Thiokol, Honeywell, Salt Lake City Airport, and the University of Utah Hospital. He has taught thousands of students throughout most of the United States as well as a few other countries for over 25 years. He has also worked as a subject matter expert for development of online training programs and as an expert witness.
