Dr. Kelly Senecal is co-founder and owner of Convergent Science and is an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is one of the original developers of CONVERGE, an industry leading computational fluid dynamics solver. Kelly is a Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers, a member of the executive committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and is the 2019 recipient of the ASME internal combustion engine award. He speaks to audiences around the globe about how high-performance computing can help us design more efficient and cleaner propulsion systems for transportation.

Dr. Senecal received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has written a number of research papers in the area of CFD of reactive flows, and he is the author of the widely used LISA (Linearized Instability Sheet Atomization) spray breakup model. Dr. Senecal has received international recognition, including articles in The New York Times and England’s The Sunday Times, for his pioneering work on the use of CFD in the engine design process.
