Charles Krueger

An award-winning speaker, Krueger is well known for his ability to teach financial and non-financial managers how to use financial information to stimulate effective decision-making. He also helps managers utilize financial information in directing profit centers, implementing innovative cost management techniques and relating operations to strategic objectives. In his teaching, he uses models and simulations to help students develop a detailed understanding of financial concepts. Krueger has broad experience in industry, government and the non-profit sector, and his professional work relates especially well to engineers. His article on “Controlling Construction Costs,” received an award from The Institute of Management Accountants.


Tom P. Smith

Thomas W. Smith is a Program Director in the Department of Engineering Professional Development at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Tom’s research and teaching focus on engineering leadership and physical asset management. He is the founder of the UW’s award-winning Master of Engineering Management degree. He served as a U.S. delegate and task group leader for the ISO Standards Committee on Asset Management (ISO 55000: 2014). Tom is a member of the Faculty of the Institute of Asset Management and author and frequent presenter at asset management events around the world. His whitepapers and course information can be found on his LinkedIn page. Tom received his Bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and Master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
